About us:

At Carer's Network, we advocate for equality and respect, dedication to fostering a workplace culture that values every individual's needs. Our mission is to empower our clients to lead fulfilling lives by delivering tailored home support services that address their unique needs and lifestyle.

About the role:

In a small business like Carer's Network, the HR Manager isn't just overseeing policies —you're the heartbeat of a dynamic team. Here, your expertise doesn't just support the organisation—it drives it, ensuring that every team member is empowered to deliver exceptional care.

Here, you will know every team member by name; shape a workplace where carers feel genuinely supported; and build HR systems that are people-centred and purpose-driven. You're not just managing compliance - you're nurturing a team that enables vulnerable individuals to live with dignity, joy, and independence. That's not just a job… that's a legacy.

Key Responsibilities:

As a key member of our small, people-focused team, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end HR services that support our growing workforce. This diverse role covers all aspects of Human Resources, including:

  • Employee Support & Engagement: Act as both the first point of contact or escalation point for HR-related queries, support performance management, investigate complaints, and promote positive workplace culture and staff motivation.
  • HR Operations & Compliance: Oversee the management of employee records, ensure HR compliance, and coordinate audits and reporting.
  • Learning & Development: Liaise with the Clinical Care Advisor to coordinate employee training plans, maintain learning records, and manage the delivery of professional development through our Carer's Network Portal.
  • Work, Health & Safety: Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace health and safety by upholding a zero-tolerance approach to abuse and human rights violations, actively promoting a positive safety culture, reporting hazards and incidents promptly, and complying with all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Support recruitment team to ensure the processes and management of the onboarding and induction programs for staff are met.
  • HR Systems & Administration: Maintain HR databases and systems, ensure accurate records and documentation, and support system improvements and updates.
  • Policy & Procedure Development: Assist in creating, reviewing, and updating HR policies and internal procedures.
  • Incident Management: Liaise with the Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer to support the incident reporting process for employee and client-related matters, ensuring all actions comply with legal and organizational standards.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Business, or Management
  • Ability to enjoy working autonomously and within a dynamic team
  • Significant HR or operations management experience, ideally within the aged care or disability support sector.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance requirements in the community services industry.
  • Sound knowledge of the SCHAD'S award and how it applies to the home care sector.
  • Proven experience in People Management, paying special attention to workplace culture and reward and recognition.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Display high levels of positive workplace engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.

Required Certificates and Licences:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • A valid Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Mandatory vaccination health orders apply to this industry.
