Responsibilities:
- Business Results & Team Effectiveness: Drive business performance and change through effective HR consultation, strong HR practices, and robust processes. Influence key business decisions by maintaining close partnerships with the Leadership Team.
- HR Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the company's human resources strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Labour Management & Compliance: Collaborate with internal specialists, functional leaders, and business units to establish and maintain effective processes related to labour management and regulatory compliance.
- Compensation & Benefits: Provide strategic consultation on compensation to ensure competitive and equitable base and variable pay, as well as benefits. Play a lead role in salary reviews and performance-related pay decisions.
- Payroll Leadership: Oversee payroll strategy, systems, and team operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of time and attendance, payroll, and related functions.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and enhance HR and payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Project Leadership: Lead and advance specific HR-related projects aimed at increasing operational efficiency across the function.
- Award & Legislation Advisory: Provide accurate guidance on relevant Modern Awards (e.g., GRIA, Clerks Award) and payroll legislation, ensuring compliant implementation.
- HR & Payroll Compliance: Research, evaluate, and apply best market practices across all HR and payroll compliance areas.
- Work Health & Safety: Manage functional responsibilities related to workplace health and safety, injury management, and return-to-work programs.
- Coaching & Leadership Development: Provide coaching and support to direct reports and team leaders to enhance leadership effectiveness and team performance.
- HR Business Partner Support: Deliver on-the-job training and professional guidance to HR Business Partners, acting as a trusted advisor within the HR team.
- Generalist HR Support: Offer comprehensive HR support by deeply understanding the company's culture, policies, and procedures and ensuring alignment with both local and global practices.
- HR Advisory Services: Provide first-level functional HR advice and support to employees and managers within the defined scope of responsibility.
To be successful, you should have:
- Proven HR leadership experience — retail background a big plus
- Deep understanding of Australian labour law & Modern Awards
- Payroll, compensation, and compliance expertise
- Strong stakeholder management & communication skills
- Experience in a global or multi-national environment
- A strategic mindset with flawless execution
In this pivotal role, you will partner closely with senior leadership and our global HQ to deliver end-to-end HR initiatives — from employee relations and labour compliance to payroll, remuneration, and team performance.
