We are seeking an individual with experience in stakeholder and client engagement, who has excellent communication, customer service and secretariat skills, to fill the role of Food Safety Response Officer at Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).
The Food Safety Response Officer is involved in the coordination of food recalls and facilitating responses to national food incidents. Our team works in consultation with all levels of government, food industry stakeholders and consumers.
To be successful in the role you will be:

• an enthusiastic, professional team player who enjoys engaging and communicating with stakeholders and works well under pressure

• willing to do work out of hours on a rotating food recall roster

The key duties of the position include:

The duties of this position include:

• Engaging with stakeholders – both on the phone and via email – to coordinate food recalls, food incidents and international food issue notifications.


• Undertaking day to day food recall and incident response activities, including managing recall/incident email inboxes, undertaking project work and responding to enquires.


• Supporting the coordination of activities under the National Food Incident Response Protocol, including providing secretariat support.


• Coordinating national food recalls in Australia, and maintaining procedural guidelines, team SharePoint sites, after-hours rosters and timesheets, public webpages and data/records management systems.


• Providing secretariat support to various meetings, including drafting agendas, papers and minutes.


• Providing input into the preparation of papers and reports on food recalls and food incidents for FSANZ and other government agencies, industry stakeholders and ministers.


• Some out of hours work to coordinate national food recalls.

Eligibility

The successful candidate will have:
1. Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills. This includes experience engaging with clients on the phone and via email.
2. A focus on accuracy and attention to detail, including in the production of reports and public notifications.
3. Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
4. Excellent organisational skills, including experience in the provision of secretariat support or coordinating and minuting meetings.
5. Proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines within a team environment.
