Job Description

As part of an exciting uplift to Procurement and Vendor Management, we are looking for an IT Procurement Manager to join the team

The IT Procurement Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of strategic procurement activities, including vendor engagements, stakeholder management, and market engagement. This role will be accountable for procurement activities with the focus on supporting our IT spend and becoming a trusted business partner for our IT senior leaders.

You'll also make an impact by:

  • Helping embed and uplift a centralised procurement function to support a growing business.
  • Proactively and constructively challenging the business status-quo.
  • Defining the 'go to market' strategy (RFP, RFX, RFQ direct negotiation etc.) and sourcing objectives to secure quality of supply and achieve consistent value for money solutions.
  • Issuing and managing RFx's including negotiating, evaluating and executing contract agreements.
  • Leading procurement and contracting dimensions of projects and/or management requirements, performing impact analyses and taking appropriate actions as directed.
  • Conducting market assessments that identifies supplier market depth in region and globally, current, and future market conditions, assess current & emerging market capabilities and identify the commercial requirements of suppliers.
  • Ability to analyse complex IT vendor commercial models and provide insights.
  • Becoming a trusted business partner by building effective working relationships with key internal/external stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining strong and sustainable relationships with vendors (service providers).
  • Engaging and advising key stakeholders on policies, procedures, systems, and standards to enable them to deliver effective, outcomes-focused sourcing activities across the organisation.
  • Having a continuous improvement mindset to improve experiences with procurement and the procurement and vendor management team's operating efficiencies.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • 8+ years demonstrated IT procurement experience, preferably in the Banking industry.
  • A track record of success in procurement; from cost benefits/service improvements attained, developing and improving policy and processes, driving change, and gaining stakeholder buy-in.
  • Strong ability to negotiate, establish and administer contracts.
  • Capability to analyse problems and strategies for better solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in simple terms.
  • Proven track record of multitasking, prioritising, and managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lean mindset, constantly acting to make tasks easier and faster.
