Are you looking for a new position, managing a small team, in a supportive and welcoming small primary school?

Gooburrum Out of School Hours Care (GOSHC) is offering a permanent part-time position for a suitably qualified OSHC Coordinator Educator, with immediate start available.

GOSHC is a well established not-for-profit service highly valued by the school community. We are seeking a passionate, caring, qualified and experienced Educator to lead our dedicated team. Our service is located in a purpose built facility on the school grounds, with access to beautiful playgrounds, sporting fields and an outdoor forest play area. GOSHC is licensed to care for up to 30 children, providing before school, after school and vacation care for our friendly community.

The Coordinator is responsible for the day to day delivery of care and operations of the service including administration, staffing, accreditation processes, finance management and the professional development and management of the GOSHC Education team.

We are looking for a qualified, passionate education professional to fulfil this role, a responsible person. This opportunity comes with incredible flexibility in hours and could be well suited to someone studying, or wanting to cut-back from full-time work. This position will be well suited for a candidate that wants to lead a team, and showcase their passion and dedication to children's learning.

Skills & Experience we are looking for:

-A positive outlook, creativity and a growth mindset.

  • Leadership/management experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • A strong understanding of children's learning and development and a positive approach to guiding children's behaviour.

  • Ability to support and mentor other Educators.

-Maintain and oversee programming and documentation.

-Develop and encourage children by implementing effective behaviour management strategies.

  • Effective communication within the school community, including parents, staff and government agencies.

  • Strong time management and demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks.

-Proven ability to successfully manage and work collaboratively with a team

-Adequate computing skills with working knowledge of childcare related software

Requirements for the position:

-Current Paid Blue Card / Working with Children Check

  • Working towards or holding a Diploma of Children's Services (2yr) or approved equivalent (consideration will be given to applicants with Cert III in Children's Services and relevant experience commensurate with the role requirements).

  • Must hold or be working towards a Diploma of Children's Services (2 year) as the minimum qualification level for this position.

-Full First aid and CPR

-Asthma & Anaphylaxis training

-Relevant police checks

-Child protection training

-Vaccinations as per QLD Health recommendations (including COVID vaccinations)

-Capacity to manage a team that can flex up to 38 hours per week as required for service delivery, particularly during vacation care.
