This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Schools Officer (Facilities), to join our Cooroy Campus on a permanent full-time basis. You will play a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and well-managed school facilities that support the learning environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to maintenance requests and repairs across classrooms, offices, and other school facilities.
- Coordinate with contractors and tradespeople as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities and promptly address issues.
- Ensure all work complies with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
- Assist with setup and pack down of school activities and events.
- Able to prioritise competing requests and think on your feet in this fast paced environment.
- Use computer systems to log maintenance requests, complete reports, and maintain compliance records.
About You:
- Demonstrated practical maintenance and repair skills.
- Strong understanding of WHS compliance and safe work practices.
- Computer literate and confident with digital reporting and record-keeping systems.
- Organised, dependable, and able to prioritise competing tasks effectively.
- Works collaboratively with staff, contractors, and the school community.
- Shows initiative, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining facilities.
