Purpose of the role
The Network Security Engineer safeguards the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Youi's network security in line with business needs. The role involves maintaining, monitoring, and continuously improving network security systems and infrastructure in accordance with Youi's risk profile.
Key priorities
- Security Infrastructure Engineering: Engineer, implement, monitor, and enhance Youi's network security infrastructure.
- Security Requirements: Identify and define operational security requirements.
- Architecture Design: Design and document security infrastructure aligned with industry best practices.
- Standards & Procedures: Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and work instructions for all security components.
- Troubleshooting: Monitor, manage, and maintain the integrity and availability of security technologies, including device updates and issue resolution.
- Automation & Tools: Develop and improve tools to manage vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
- Incident Management: Manage and communicate network security incidents according to sensitivity and criticality.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare reports, findings, and recommendations, and engage effectively with stakeholders, vendors, and support services.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology or related field with 3+ years' experience as a Security Engineer; industry certifications (ISC2, SANS, Palo Alto, F5) desirable.
- Security Engineering Expertise: Proven experience designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise security infrastructure, including firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, proxies, authentication systems, and log management tools.
- Technology Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with F5, Palo Alto, Cisco, Elastic, and secure web gateways; experience with Azure and PKI highly regarded.
- System Integration: Skilled in systems engineering, integration, and management across enterprise ICT environments.
- Operational Security: Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain security policies, standards, and operational procedures aligned with ICT best practice.
- Incident & Vulnerability Management: Identify, investigate, and resolve security threats; perform vulnerability and risk assessments; support incident response.
- Process & Documentation: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, patching processes, and system documentation.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong communication skills with ability to report findings, advise stakeholders, and engage vendors and peers effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Research and implement proactive security enhancements, automation, and process improvements.
- Strategic Support: Contribute to planning, budgeting, and project delivery to ensure network and infrastructure security objectives are met.
Ways of working
Youi offers a hybrid model: in-office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Mondays and Fridays.
