Spec Services is a growing specialist cleaning and services management company. We work across commercial, industrial and environmental sites-including emergency and biohazard clean-ups. We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our Hardscape division. This role leads pressure washing and specialist outdoor cleaning projects across government, commercial, and construction sites in the ACT and surrounding areas.

About the Role

As Operations Supervisor – Hardscape, you will be responsible for ensuring our outdoor and site-based projects run safely on time, and to Spec Services' industry-leading standards. This includes physically assessing sites, planning project requirements, coordinating teams, and stepping in to complete tasks yourself when needed. Your key responsibilities include;

  • Performing hardscape pressure washing, exterior cleaning, and other site-based services.
  • Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or lead a small team.
  • Conducting physical site assessments to determine equipment, chemical, PPE, and staffing needs prior to job commencement.
  • Delivering projects safely, on schedule, on budget, and to client specifications.
  • Overseeing WHS practices, including chemical safety, equipment checks, and safe work procedures.
  • Completing daily reports and records using operating systems.
  • Keeping management updated on team issues, site progress, and challenges.
  • Communicating professionally with site managers and ensuring all work meets client standards and requirements.
  • Training team members in safe equipment use and ensuring proper PPE allocation and use.
  • Ensuring compliance with site-specific rules, environmental guidelines, and industry standards.

What You'll Bring

To be successful, you will need:

  • Full Working Rights
  • White Card, Asbestos Awareness Certificate, and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention training (11084NAT, 10675NAT, or 10314NAT) — or willingness to obtain them (required for construction site work)
  • Previous experience in pressure washing, hardscape, or industrial cleaning (preferred but not essential)
  • Leadership or team coordination experience
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Professional presentation with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging environments
  • Strong onsite troubleshooting and practical decision-making skills
  • Solid understanding of WHS practices and safe work protocols
  • Proficiency in documentation, digital reporting tools, and communication
  • Current driver's licence and own reliable transport
  • Current police clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Willingness to complete a pre-employment health questionnaire
