About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Senior Accountant
who combines technical expertise with strong leadership qualities. You will bring exceptional attention to detail and time management skills to ensure our clients receive timely, accurate outcomes. In this role, you will not only manage your own client portfolio but also provide support and guidance to junior team members.

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will help you build trusted client relationships, explain complex issues with clarity, and contribute to advisory discussions. Solid experience across accounting, taxation, reporting, BAS preparation and payroll is essential, with exposure to higher-level review responsibilities highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities will include:


• Processing data and reconciliation of accounts


• Preparing financial statements & reports for various entities


• Prepare all information required to lodge the monthly/quarterly BAS and IAS


• Preparing tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships and trusts


• Tax planning and advisory projects for clients


• Record Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions for clients with payroll, demonstrating a thorough understanding of payroll processing and compliance


• Demonstrate a strong understanding of superannuation regulation including being able to apply knowledge to a range of tax planning scenarios


• Expertly manage Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) compliance


• Recording end of financial year accrual journals and adjustments


• Assisting with setting up new clients on Xero, Quickbooks and other software.

Skills and experience

We're looking for someone with the following:


• Minimum 4+ years experience in public practice or a similar accounting role, with solid tax and business advisory exposure


• A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (or equivalent)


• Current membership with—or actively working towards—CPA, CA or IPA


• Strong investigative and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail


• Confident managing your own portfolio of clients across varied industries


• Proficiency in document handling, electronic filing and general office administration


• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel


• Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB (highly valued)


• Familiarity with Access HandiSoft is an advantage
