This vacancy may be available in either Alyangula or Angurugu or Umbakumba subject to negotiation with the successful applicant.

An amazing opportunity is available within the East Arnhem Population Primary Health Care team to work as part of a multidisciplinary health team and engage closely with other service providers.

As the Aboriginal Health Practitioner Men's Health, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Men's Health program on the four communities in the Groote Eylandt Archipelago, requiring close collaboration with the Manager of Population Health, and Director of Primary Health Care for East Arnhem Region.

You will work closely with the Remote Area Clinic staff including Remote Area Nurses, Clinic Managers and General Practitioners to provide a proactive and preventative approach to service delivery in this high priority program.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management skills

Housing for this position is based in Nhulunbuy with the intent to move the position to Alyangula, Groote Eylandt (Australia's third largest Island) which has a population of approx. 1,500 when housing becomes available. It has all essential services including a school, a primary health care clinic, shopping complex, childcare centres, recreation club, nine-hole golf course and sporting facilities.
