THE OPPORTUNITY
As Quality Manager, you'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, leading technical investigations, and building strong partnerships with customers and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quality investigations and manage the customer complaint system, identifying trends and driving improvement initiatives.
- Partner with key customers to strengthen relationships, enhance product performance, and resolve technical issues.
- Support new product launches through validation protocols, technical trials, and packaging assessments.
- Deliver customer-facing technical support and value-added reports, including 8D CAPA and quality documentation.
- Act as the Quality Pillar Leader within SIG's Continuous Improvement (SES) framework, collaborating across departments.
- Provide training on SIG products and applications to both internal teams and external customers.
- Project manage validation of new materials and concepts, working closely with manufacturing and commercial teams.
- Stay up to date with global best practices by liaising with international SIG counterparts.
- Travel interstate and internationally to support customer sites, often at short notice.
You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education
- A bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, process).
- Required 3 to 5 years' experience in an engineering role.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%.
- Familiarity preferred with areas like flexible packaging, aseptic processing and filling, injection moulding, plastic film extrusion and/or lamination, and print.
- Exposure to customer interaction.
- Proven Project management experience.
- ISO management systems and food safety systems experience / knowledge
