Are you a Cyber Security professional with a passion for threat detection and incident response? We're seeking a skilled SOC Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting national security initiatives. This is a 12-month contract based in Canberra, with potential for extension. NV1 Security Clearance is essential.

Your day at NTT

  • Maintain and optimise the current logging service using Splunk
  • Respond to cyber security events and alerts generated by Splunk
  • Investigate, triage, and escalate cyber security events as required
  • Collaborate with client to respond to confirmed cyber security incidents
  • Develop and implement new detection rules within Splunk
  • Onboard new log sources aligned with industry best practices to enhance detection capabilities

What would make you a good fit for this role?

  • Proven experience with Splunk for log management and threat detection
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security operations, including incident response and triage
  • Ability to write and tune detection rules and correlation searches
  • Familiarity with onboarding and normalising log data from diverse sources
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in multi-agency environments
  • Understanding of reporting obligations and documentation standards in a SOC context
