About The Role
Step into the critical role of Finance Officer, where your expertise will enhance the council's financial services for both our team and the community. You will play a key role in ensuring legislative compliance and efficiently managing finance-related tasks including creditors, revenue/debtors, and water billing. Your commitment to accurate financial record-keeping will be instrumental to our finance team's success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain Council's accounts payable payment systems.
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable subsidiary ledger monthly.
  • Provide support and assistance across all areas of the Finance section.
  • Receipt and conduct daily bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.

About You
As our ideal candidate has well-developed organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise work within an environment with fluctuating workloads and changing priorities, and has excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Deeply knowledgeable in the world of finance, with a Certificate III in Accounts Administration or equivalent.
  • Proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office suite and experienced with financial software packages.
  • Skilled with the ability to organise and prioritise work within an environment of fluctuating workloads and changing priorities.
  • Customer focused, with experience in managing inquiries and complaints with sensitivity and discretion.
