About Tassal

Our purpose is Sustainably Feeding Tomorrow.

Our ambition is to be Australia's Aquaculture Leader and Leading Seafood Brand.

At Tassal, safety isn't just compliance – it's our commitment. We care for, and take care of, our people, our planet, our product, and our prosperity.

About the Role

It is a permanent full-time position based at our stunning Hobart office. This role plays a critical part in driving Tassal's Zero by Choice safety strategy and embedding cultural maturity, while aligning to Tassal's long-term direction through Our Blueprint.

About You

You are more than a technical WHS professional – you are a leader who can influence and inspire cultural change. You have supported organisations through cultural safety transformation and know what it takes to move from compliance-driven approaches to interdependent, values-led cultures.

  • Driving cultural maturity by fostering accountability, ownership and collaboration.
  • Building trust through relationships, influence and consistent delivery.

Your ability to connect with teams – directly and indirectly – will help Tassal continue to strengthen its safety culture and achieve long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the Safety team to deliver expert technical and practical WHS support
  • Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety capability and implement effective risk management programs
  • Develop, maintain and embed best-practice WHS systems and initiatives across freshwater, processing and land-based operations
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation while promoting both physical and psychological safety
  • Champion Tassal's Zero by Choice strategy and support the implementation of Our Blueprint

Attributes for Success

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate strong technical expertise and proven ability to influence culture and capability.

Qualifications:

A Diploma in WHS (or equivalent) is required, with a Degree in WHS considered highly desirable. Additional qualifications such as a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and/or Lead Auditor in WHS will also be valued.

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong technical WHS expertise across multi-site operations
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, influence and support senior leaders
  • Experience in building and embedding interdependent safety cultures
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
