Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven
National Business Development Manager
with deep expertise in Ocean Freight (FCL) sales, particularly across
Intra-Asia and Asia-US trade lanes
. The ideal candidate will have a strong network of Australian clients, a proven track record in freight forwarding, and the ability to drive strategic growth through hands-on sales and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
Ocean Freight Sales Individual Contributor
- Drive national sales efforts focused on Full Container Load (FCL) services across Intra-Asia and Asia-US routes.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand market share and revenue in ocean freight.
- Lead client acquisition and retention initiatives, targeting mid-sized to large Australian importers/exporters.
Client Relationship Management
- Leverage at least 10 years of established relationships with Australian clients in relevant trade lanes.
- Maintain and grow a robust pipeline of new business opportunities through proactive outreach and networking.
- Deliver customized logistics solutions that align with client needs and industry trends.
Market Expertise
- Stay current with market dynamics, carrier developments, and pricing strategies in the Asia-Pacific and Trans-Pacific regions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to internal teams to enhance competitiveness and service offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a majority focused on ocean freight sales.
- Proven success in selling FCL services to mid-sized and large clients in Intra-Asia and Asia-US trade lanes.
- Strong network of existing client relationships in Australia, with a demonstrated ability to build new ones.
- Deep understanding of international logistics and carrier operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel nationally as needed.
