About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef/Chef to join our dynamic team at Pier 88 in Manly, QLD. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will play a vital role in the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This is a full-time position offering competitive remuneration and the opportunity to grow your culinary career within a thriving hospitality business.

What you'll be doing

  1. Assisting the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control
  2. Hands-on cooking and plating of high-quality dishes
  3. Supervising and training kitchen staff to ensure consistent execution of recipes and presentation standards
  4. Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
  5. Ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
  6. Collaborating with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment
  2. Strong technical cooking skills and a passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes
  3. Excellent time management, organisational and problem-solving abilities
  4. Superb leadership and mentoring skills to effectively manage and motivate kitchen staff
  5. Up-to-date knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under pressure
  7. Strong communication and customer service skills
