We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant/Accounts Clerk to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with Accounts Payable/Receivable experience, excellent reconciliation skills, and a collaborative, hands-on approach.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting
  • Prepare and post journals accurately
  • Support BAS preparation
  • Handle Fixed Asset booking and reconciliation
  • Provide assistance in annual audit, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor queries

Accounts Receivable & Payable

  • Accurate data entry
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Assist with customer credit applications

Payroll

  • Process/Support fortnightly payroll accurately and on time

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, and ad-hoc tasks
  • Answer internal and external queries professionally
  • Liaise with operational staff to resolve queries and support smooth operations
  • Collaborate with the finance team on daily activities and special projects

About You

You're an enthusiastic, detail-focused team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. You'll bring:

  • At least 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable or Assistant Accountant roles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software systems (e.g., Exact, MYOB, Micronet)
  • Experience with payroll processing and reconciliations
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Quick learner, Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
