Company Description
About Us
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) is at the heart of WA's racing and wagering industries. As a government trading enterprise, we regulate and develop the State's racing sector and operate the TAB – a multifaceted wagering business with a presence across more than 300 retail outlets and a growing digital platform.
Our work protects the integrity of racing and wagering, strengthens industry sustainability, and delivers value to the WA community. We are proud to be an organisation driven by our values of Respect, Accountability, Connection, and Excellence.
Job Description
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Information and Data Governance Specialist to join our Technology Division.
Reporting to the Information and Data Governance Team Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and operation of RWWA's information management framework and records management systems. This includes developing and embedding processes, controls and training to ensure our information assets are appropriately managed, protected, and effectively utilised across the organisation.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in establishing and maintaining information and data governance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Support projects that implement information management systems and controls.
- Conduct information analysis and risk assessments to maintain the organisation's information asset register.
- Work with stakeholders to implement data classification, handling rules, and privacy considerations.
- Provide functional support for records management systems, including oversight of records holdings and disposal processes.
- Deliver training and awareness initiatives to strengthen organisational information management capability.
- Conduct assurance checks and recommend continuous improvements to processes, systems, and policies.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both operational delivery and influencing organisation-wide practices. You will be a trusted advisor, supporting business areas to achieve their objectives while ensuring information integrity and governance requirements are met.
Qualifications
About You
You are an information management professional who understands that effective governance is central to trust, compliance, and organisational performance. You can navigate detail without losing sight of broader business needs and have the communication skills to translate complex requirements into practical, plain-language advice.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in information management, records management, or data governance roles.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including the State Records Act 2000, WA Information Classification Policy, and the WA Information Management Framework.
- Familiarity with privacy legislation (e.g. Privacy Act 1988, Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024) is highly regarded.
- Experience with records management systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to the Microsoft 365 suite is desirable.
- Strong analytical and risk identification skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships across diverse teams.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor information for technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional Information
Why Join Us

We offer:
- Impact and purpose – contribute to the integrity of WA's racing and wagering industry.
