About The Role:

Provides technical leadership to in-house teams, private sector professionals and external client agencies on design, building quality, standards, tender documentation and evaluation of State Government's non-residential building projects.

Assists project teams to plan, deliver and maintain appropriate quality non-residential Government buildings through the provision of technical advice, building design and documentation reviews, technical guidelines and briefs, and post occupancy evaluations.

About You:

In this role, you will work collaboratively to support the delivery of quality built outcomes for the WA community. Our ideal candidate is technically minded and detail oriented, with architectural design experience across a broad range of non-residential Government buildings. A strong background in design reviews is essential, as the role involves managing and coordinating review processes as well as conducting post-occupancy evaluations.The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong, professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

This position operates in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from 'doing' to supporting others to 'do good work'; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
