We're relaunching a much-loved Balmain pub after extensive renovations — and we're looking for an experienced, passionate chef to join our team and work closely with our Head Chef to bring the kitchen back to life.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh start, with a new menu, new team, and a newly renovated venue. If you're ready to step up, lead by example, and take pride in quality food, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

In this role, you'll work closely with the Head Chef and wider team to deliver high-quality, consistent pub food in a fast-paced environment. You'll be responsible for running your section efficiently during prep and service, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and contributing to a positive team culture.

This is a great opportunity for a capable chef who's ready to take the next step in a supportive kitchen, with room to grow as the venue builds momentum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the team on daily service and prep, and contribute to smooth kitchen operations
  • Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and team to ensure consistency and quality across all sections
  • Maintain a clean, organised workstation
  • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
  • Help and support junior kitchen staff as needed
  • Contribute ideas for specials and menu improvements
  • Support with stock control, ordering and cost awareness

About You:

  • 5+ years experience as a chef
  • Solid background in pub or casual dining
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and team dynamics
  • Calm under pressure and confident running service if needed
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Flexible with availability, including nights and weekends
