We are currently offering a great opportunity for an experienced Merchandise & Fertiliser Manager to join our Kerang team. This critical role in the merchandise team requires you to be able to build long lasting partnerships with customers and deliver appropriate advice and services using your specialist knowledge of a variety of agricultural products and supplies.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for managing sales and inventory of Animal Health, Fertiliser, Ag Chem and General Merchandise operations and driving performance in these categories.

• Work closely with store management, agronomists and sales teams, providing merchandise support such as stock takes, retail operations improvements, on farm meetings, technical information and mentoring to encourage improved performance.
• You will negotiate with suppliers and develop pricing strategies, oversee stock levels and marketing initiatives with the aim of maintaining the businesses competitive position for all lines and have a direct impact on profitability of the branch.
• Analyse market trends, climatic and seasonable considerations to ensure Nutrien Ag Solutions is first choice for rural customers in the region.
• Manage the fertiliser depot, including loading trucks, blending fertiliser and preparing orders for delivery

About you:

To be successful, you will have a strong technical background along with experience within pricing and margin management and sales target achievement through effective category development. In addition you will:

• Demonstrate previous exposure to warehousing, logistics and supply chain, ideally gained from the farming and agriculture industry
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster solid long-term relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders together with the ability to drive business outcomes and performance.
• You will also have excellent communication both written and verbal. Ideally you will have exposure to SAP ERP, together with strong MS Excel for reporting.
• A drivers licence is essential, a forklift licence and MR Truck licence is preferable.
• AgSafe accredited or the ability to undertake the appropriate safety training will be required.
