Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their feedlot team near Kerang, VIC.
The role will entail, but is not limited to:
- All aspects of livestock care and management – pen moves on foot/in vehicles, drafting and weighing
- All aspects of milling and feeding – handling grain & other commodities with silos, elevators, conveyors, augers, machines, milling, loading mixer wagons, feeding out with tractor & mixer wagons, etc
- Some aspects of feedlot maintenance – cleaning and maintaining water lines & troughs, cleaning pens, repairing feedlot pens, cables, bunk rails, belly rails, machinery and plant servicing and upkeep etc
For this role you will need:
- Prior cattle handling and knowledge
- Experience with tractors, feed mixers, and loaders will be highly regarded
- Feedlot or Milling/Feeding experience will be highly regarded
- Be clean, and tidy and maintain an organised work environment
- Look after machinery, tools, and other equipment/plant
- Be respectful and able to communicate well within a team
- Have common sense and a strong work ethic
- Be trustworthy to complete tasks on your own and to the highest standard
- Be willing to listen and learn
Our client is a well-established livestock enterprise and is looking for the right person to start on a permanent basis ASAP. They will provide accommodation and a very generous salary package for the right person. Their operation is within a short drive to Kerang and also Bendigo within roughly an hour and half for larger services.
