About the Role:Aligned with ANZ Commercial Plan, the Assistant Marketing Manager - Brand & Content (Australia & New Zealand) is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of brand strategies and growth initiatives that strengthen brand equity, drive consumer engagement, and deliver commercial results through strong partnerships.

This role will assist with delivering integrated brand campaigns, manage drink and supplier partnerships and deliver content and activations to ensure Subway's brand positioning is brought to life consistently across all touchpoints.  Through effective cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, working closely with external partners / suppliers, partnering with external media, creative, activation and PR agencies, as well as strong communication with our franchisee network, this role will work to enhance the brands marketing plans to drive consumers to Subway in Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the Brand and Content Manager, all brand, partnership and content initiatives will be insight-led, locally relevant, and aligned with business objectives to deliver growth to the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Brand Strategy Development – Work closely with Brand and Content Manager, PR Manager and Head of Brand Marketing to develop and execute culturally resonant brand activities for the ANZ region.
  • Sponsorship & Partnership Management – Act as one of the brand guardian for all sponsorship and partnership opportunities and activations / events, ensuring alignment to Subway's brand values, tone, and objectives while maximising brand visibility and relevance.
  • Vendor and Partner Activity – assist with managing beverage and other category brand partnerships and marketing calendars through all marketing channels, ensuring alignment with Subway's brand strategy, activation plans, and commercial objectives.
  • Influencer & Brand Ambassador Engagement – assist with paid influencer strategy and engagement, developing content briefs and executions which align to campaign and brand objectives.
  • Brand Moments and Activations –create and execute distinctive, ownable brand moments and initiatives that resonate with both current and growth audiences, bringing them to life through bold, high-impact events / activations and campaigns.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with internal Digital, PR, Operations, and Product teams and external agencies to ensure campaign and brand activity is fully integrated and executed.
  • Market Insights & Analysis – assist with monitoring consumer trends, brand performance, competitor activity, and category insights to inform strategy.
  • Budget Management – assist with managing brand and content marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation and ROI tracking brand and content marketing budgets, ensuring effective 5% allocation and ROI tracking.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive brand activities aligned to ANZ business goals and global brand direction.
  • Ensure brand, content partnership / vendor campaigns are integrated across all paid, owned, and earned channels, alongside the Brand and Content Manager and PR Manager.
  • Plan and execute vendor marketing activity across seven key accounts, aligned to mutually agreed objectives and investment (vendor / supplier partnership marketing) collaboratively working with wider marketing department to execute all plans.
  • Identify and collaborate with influencers and brand ambassadors to develop brand content which promotes the brand and /or relevant campaign activity. Assist with managing this channel of work from briefing to execution to deliver on campaign / brand objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for brand engagement with a focus on growth audiences, delivering localized market executions.
  • Manage relevant sponsorship and charity opportunities as a brand custodian, delivering co-branded initiatives that amplify reach and engagement.
  • Manage the brand marketing and vendor marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI on marketing initiatives.
  • Leverage consumer insights, category trends, and competitor analysis to inform brand strategy and creative direction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on campaigns, vendor/brand partnerships, preferably within retail / consumer industries.

  • Technical Proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize workload and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented.
  • An ability to cultivate and build collaborative working relationships with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven track record delivering integrated brand campaigns and vendor / partner marketing strategies to life across multiple channels.
  • Some experience in delivering influencer / content management to drive engagement with brands.
  • Strong execution skills and can-do attitude.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing agencies and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
