We require an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our friendly and supportive Accounts team of 10 at our Ballarat Head Office reporting to the Finance Manager.

If you are a 'numbers person' this role may be for you Further training will be provided in addition to your experience.

About the ROLE

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciliation, preparation, lodgments of IAS Tax , BAS, Payroll tax, workers compensation- Compliance for AUS and NZ

  • Compile and analyse financial information & preparing entries to accounts

  • Payments and accounting of AUS & NZ foreign creditors

  • Intercompany accounting and reconciliation

  • Assist Finance Manager with various tasks

  • Financial reporting

  • Preparing budgets, records, and statements

  • Appraise, evaluate, and inventory real property & equipment, recording information including Asset register management

To be successful in this important role, you will need:

  • CPA/CA & Degree in Finance/Accounting or related discipline essential

  • Knowledge & strong understanding of Accounting/ERP software essential

  • High knowledge of Excel spreadsheets

  • Comfortable and capable of working within a high-volume transactional environment

  • Able to manage multiple tasks with a high-level attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated ability to confidently work in a team environment

  • Professional and courteous manner

  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form across all levels of the business

  • Analytical skills, ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy
