We are looking for an Accountant to join our team.

About the role:

Various accounting and taxation needs of our clients and including, but not limited to:

  • exposure to a variety of industries including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property

  • assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

  • assistance with the preparation of business activity statements and instalment activity statements

  • preparation of fringe benefits tax returns and payroll tax returns

The ideal candidate will have:

  • at least 3 years prior experience in accounting with a strong academic track record

  • exceptional communication skills

  • strong understanding of Australian Tax Law and accounting concepts

  • strong understanding of fundamental business concepts

  • strong ability to analyze and interpret financial information

  • a high focus on providing excellent client service

  • excellent time management and attention to detail

  • a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others

  • professional personal presentation

  • ability to work under pressure

  • a strong work ethic and initiative

  • commitment to further training and professional development

What we'd love from you:

  • at least 3 years experience in an accounting practice

  • degree qualified and working toward, or preparing to work toward, obtaining CPA status

  • ability to identify how to maximize returns for clients and be able to understand deductibility of certain items

  • previous exposure to accounting and tax software with strong skills in using MYOB, Xero and Intuit Quickbooks. FYIDocs, XPA and APS will also be highly regarded.
