About the role...

Working closely in a small and experienced team, this position will provide claims handling support for the commercial and retail motor claims management operations of Assetinsure.

The role is offered on a part-time basis of 22.5 hours per week and will be on a fixed term contract for a duration of 7 months, starting from 3rd November 2025.

The key responsibilities will be…

  • Product champion for the Motor claims portfolio.
  • Lodgement and verification of claims.
  • Diligent maintenance of electronic claim files ensuring all claim documentation is uploaded to the claim file in a timely manner.
  • Appointing and instructing assessors and/or investigators.
  • Setting reserves and authorising payment within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost- effective manner and ensuring timely payment of service supplier invoices.
  • Identifying suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims, notifying manager, arranging investigation and briefing solicitors if further action is to be taken.
  • Internal assessment of low value claims where appropriate.
  • Referral point for the claims team in our underwriting agencies (as required).
  • Claims settlements and recoveries.
  • Referral of complaints to appropriate manager.
  • Answering inbound calls for claim enquiries.
  • Maintain positive relationship with insured's, brokers, underwriting agencies and external service providers.
  • Facilitate open dialogue with stakeholders in relation to policy interpretation and specific claim management issues.
  • Provision of exceptional customer service to all clients (current and potential).
  • Other administrative duties as and when required.

The ideal candidate for this role should be professional and courteous. They must demonstrate the requisite skills to assist in the administration and management of our retail and commercial motor claims portfolio. Good telephone, written, general communication and customer service skills required together with the ability to work under pressure and remotely as necessary. Computer skills are imperative.

The ideal candidate should possess a good understanding of the business needs and ideally have worked in and have a solid understanding of motor claims.
