About the role

Co-ordination, supervision of maintenance and installation activities within the data centre environment, with a strong focus that all maintenance is scheduled, fully documented as per standing operating processes and agreed schedules.

Monitor daily activities and building services, identifying any issues and escalate situation to Facilities Engineering Manager and offsite services providers.

This role is based in Greystanes, NSW, on-site working and reporting into Data Centre Manager. The role supports 24x7 mission critical operations and shift staff, with the occasional weekend requirement to support maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Liaise with onsite clients and service partners at the Greystanes data centre to ensure a high level of customer service and compliance with SLA's and audit requirements.
  • Maintain site reliability through identification of risk, faults and forecasted maintenance, applying risk reduction strategies through proactive R&M works.
  • Subcontractor management and supervision including maintenance, repair and new installations.
  • Maintenance scope preparation, with end-to-end delivery of all works.
  • Provide breakdown response and situation management as required in site emergencies.
  • Maintain building records including but not limited to procedures and maintenance records to ensure compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Ensuring all work performed on site meets the agreed scope of works and an acceptable level of quality.
  • Provide Safety management of all sub-contractors and partake with internal WHS and environmental programs.
  • Prepare, develop and maintain operational documents for change control compliance and SOP compliance.
  • Conduct daily documented building inspections & initiate repairs through service partners.
  • Supervise the operation of building equipment to ensure correct operation and alignment with PUE and SLA targets.
  • Participate in site auditing activities
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of data and facility is always maintained.
  • Always ensure compliance to site and customer specific security policies.
  • Co-ordinate and manage remote hands activities in conjunction with 24x7 shift team and client requirements.

Requirements and Experience

  • Previous subcontractor management, focusing on safety and environmental compliance.
  • Management of maintenance activities within a mission critical environment, e.g. data centre, hospital, finance or large-scale commercial environments.
  • Risk management mindset and experience.
  • Proven experience supervising data centre operations or other critical environments, with a strong focus on uptime, safety, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor a broad team of shift technicians with varying levels of skills, including technicians and contractors, in a fluid work environment.
  • Hands-on experience with remote hands support, including hardware installation, cable management, troubleshooting, console work and escalation procedures or the willingness to learn quickly on the job.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with a keen eye to detail.
  • Can do attitude team attitude, with a strong focus on customer service for onsite clients.
  • MS Office Suite experience, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
  • Documentation creation skills and attention to detail for administrative tasks.
  • Reliable transport (Car) due to the location of the site.
