With a diverse workforce of more than 2,300, we expertly deliver our services across Australia.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Commissioning Lead (Electrical & Instrumentation) to take ownership of commissioning activities across major gas pipelines, pressure facilities, and energy infrastructure projects. In this role, you will:

- Conduct and manage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Drive quality, safety, and compliance with Australian and international standards
- Review designs and provide technical input to project and engineering teams
- Develop commissioning procedures, test plans, and completion records
- Coordinate with SCADA, controls, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration
- Support fault finding and issue resolution during commissioning
- Interface with clients, stakeholders, and project managers to deliver to schedule
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians across the team

About You

You are hands-on with a passion for commissioning excellence and delivering complex projects.

You bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.

Essential:

- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
- Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control
- Current Electrical Licence
- Demonstrated experience commissioning high-pressure gas pipelines and facilities
- Proven expertise in electrical and instrumentation commissioning
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4761, AS 61508/61511 (functional safety)

- Familiarity with FAT and SAT processes
- Strong technical writing — commissioning plans, procedures, ITPs, and records
- Proven ability to manage safety-critical commissioning activities with strong risk awareness
- Ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical, process, SCADA, and construction teams

Highly Regarded:

- Experience commissioning of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Fire & Gas detection
- Experience coordinating SCADA / PLC / RTU / control systems integration
- Knowledge of temporary power systems, energisation sequencing, isolations
- Experience with Type B gas appliances
- Cross-disciplinary understanding of process engineering, mechanical, and controls interfaces
