Based at our Wakefield Street office, this is your opportunity to make a real impact on the safety, compliance, and performance of essential government assets across South Australia.
About The Role
As the Technical Engineer - Fire, you will ensure technical standards for fire systems are compliant, up to date, and effectively embedded into our asset maintenance strategy. You'll work closely with Facilities Asset Managers, planning teams, and subcontractors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of fire-related assets across the contract. Your work will directly contribute to risk reduction, asset lifecycle optimisation, and overall service improvement.

- Develop and review fire system Technical Data Sheets (TDSs) aligned with compliance codes and best practices.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance to Facility Asset Managers regarding fire services maintenance and operations.
- Collaborate with Planning & Scheduling to ensure fire service obligations are embedded in maintenance plans.
- Support root cause analysis of failures in high-risk fire assets and liaise with subcontractors where required.
- Analyse recurring fire-related incidents and support efforts to reduce repeat callouts.
- Contribute to asset condition rating improvements aligned with lifecycle expectations.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years' experience in facilities management or operational engineering roles.
- In-depth knowledge of fire systems, relevant legislation, and BCA maintenance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical documentation to optimise performance of legislated fire assets.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A current Driver's Licence (essential).
Why Join Ventia?
- Work on a high-impact, state-wide government facilities contract.
- Join a collaborative, safety-focused team that values innovation and quality.
- Contribute to the safety of public infrastructure and critical facilities.
- Enjoy professional development opportunities and career progression pathways.
