We have a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our boutique, niche insurance team. This full-time role focuses on accounts receivable functions and providing administrative support to our close-knit team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for confirming payment details for all clients, ensuring accuracy, and processing payments in accordance with weekly and monthly targets. Key responsibilities include client follow-up, managing the end-to-end policy cancellation process, supporting renewals, and handling debt collection activities as required.
This role requires a high level of computer literacy and the ability to work across multiple systems. You will be expected to generate, interpret, and monitor reports from various platforms. Close collaboration with the Senior Personnel is essential, particularly in identifying and escalating payment issues to ensure the smooth and timely collection of funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and confirm payment details for new and renewing business
- managing the end-to-end policy cancellation process
- Follow up with clients regarding renewals and outstanding payments
- Monitor accounts receivable performance against set targets (weekly and monthly)
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to the Senior Broker
- Generate and interpret standard reports to track account balances and payment status
- Assist in debt collection follow-up processes
- Provide general administrative support including responding to client correspondence
- Maintain accurate records and client information in the database
- Engage positively with clients and internal staff
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in bookkeeping, cashiering, or sales support
- Experience in debt collection follow-up and account reconciliation
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
- Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, including client liaison
- Ability to prioritise tasks in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Above-average data entry and computer skills
- Certificate III in a relevant field (highly regarded but not essential)
