Assistant Centre Director

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Assistant Centre Director with a minimim of Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification to join our supportive and dedicated team. The ideal candidate will bring a kind, collaborative approach to leadership, with at least two years of experience in a leadership role, including acting as the Responsible Person.

Key Responsibilities
Act as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Director, ensuring the centre operates in alignment with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
Lead by example to promote a culture of Kindness, Empathy and Gratitude, respect, and collaboration among educators, children, and families.
Mentor and support educators in delivering a child-led, inclusive, and meaningful curriculum, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
Encourage and facilitate ongoing critical reflection and professional growth within the team.
Ensure the centre meets all compliance and regulatory requirements, including health and safety, documentation, and staff-to-child ratios.
Foster genuine, trusting relationships with children, families, educators, and the broader community.
Contribute to administrative responsibilities, including rostering, enrolments, audits, and maintaining the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)/ Self-assessment tool.
Key Selection Criteria
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA-approved equivalent.
- A minimum of two years' assistant centre director role or leadership experience in early childhood education.
- Experience in the Responsible Person role under the National Law.
- Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and National Quality Standard (NQS).
- Demonstrated ability to lead with kindness, integrity, Honesty, and clear communication.
- Confidence in guiding critical reflections that drive continuous improvement.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis, and Child Protection, Safe Sleep, Child Safe Modules 1-7.
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Pay: $68,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
