At Kids Retreat Early Learning Centre, we are passionate about providing a nurturing, inspiring, and high-quality educational environment for children, families, and educators. With a strong commitment to continuous improvement and professional development, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director / Educational Leader to support our team and lead excellence in teaching and learning.

The Role

As the Assistant Director / Educational Leader, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the service and in driving educational quality and compliance. You will work closely with the Director to provide mentorship, support educators, and ensure that our curriculum and practices reflect best-practice and align with the Early Years Learning Framework (or relevant curriculum framework).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director in the operational and administrative management of the service.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and reflection of educational programs and practices.
  • Mentor and coach educators to enhance pedagogical practices and ensure high-quality outcomes for children.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards (e.g., NQF, EYLF, NQS).
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider community.
  • Assist in staff development, appraisals, and professional learning planning.

About You

You are a passionate leader and experienced educator who thrives on inspiring others and fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent, as per ACECQA standards).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an educational leadership or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), EYLF, and relevant regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current Working With Children Check (or equivalent), First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training.

Desirable:

  • Experience using digital documentation platform OWNA

Job Type: Full-time
