You'll be the main support person for our most important business software. Your job is to make sure these systems are stable and running smoothly. You'll be the first to handle complex issues and will work with our tech teams to fix problems and prevent them from happening again. A big part of the role will be to help roll out new updates and provide everyday IT support for our Brisbane office.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage application configurations and perform database queries to support business needs.
  • Coordinate and execute application deployments in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Monitor application performance and resource utilisation to ensure stability and availability.
  • Proactively diagnose issues by analyzing databases and logs to identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Maintain and optimize monitoring tools to ensure comprehensive coverage and timely alerts.
  • Lead the resolution of critical application incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to address complex technical issues.
  • Implement permanent fixes and preventative measures to reduce recurring incidents.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
  • In the absence of the primary IT support person, provide occasional on-site "hands and feet" support for the Brisbane office, acting in coordination with our remote IT team
  • Assist with physical hardware tasks (laptops, desktops, printers) and set up workstations for new hires as directed by the remote support team.
  • Provide physical support for maintaining local IT infrastructure, including meeting room AV systems and Wi-Fi networks, under the guidance of the remote team.

What you'll bring

  • 3 years in a technical or application support role, preferably within a SaaS or cloud environment.
  • Proven ability to provide hands-on support, handling both L1 and L2 incidents.
  • Experience with release management, including smooth application deployments and post-release support.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting applications built on PHP, , or Serverless architectures.
  • Familiarity with key AWS services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3) and knowledge of ITSM practices and ticketing tools like Jira.
  • Skilled in creating comprehensive support documentation, including user guides and root cause analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.
  • Working knowledge of security and compliance standards, such as ISO 27001 or PCI DSS.
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash, Powershell), experience in Agile/DevOps environments, and relevant certifications like ITIL or AWS Cloud Practitioner.
