About the role

As a Collections Officer at Charter Mercantile Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in managing the company's accounts receivable process. Based in our Redcliffe, Queensland office, this full-time position will see you working closely with customers to resolve outstanding payments and maintain strong financial relationships.

What you'll be doing

  • Contacting customers to follow up on late or outstanding payments
  • Negotiating and arranging suitable payment plans with customers
  • Documenting all customer interactions and payment arrangements
  • Identifying and escalating high-risk accounts to management
  • Providing regular reports on the status of the accounts receivable portfolio
  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

  • At least 1 years' experience in a collections or accounts receivable role
  • Experience in both commercial and consumer debt collections
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers
  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping abilities
  • A solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
  • A positive, empathetic and professional manner when dealing with customers
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
