About the Role

We are seeking a sharp, motivated and curious Accountant to support our Finance, Alternative Investments team on a full time 15-month contract. If you have strong attention to detail, want to learn from experts in their field and are ready to advance your skillset in the exciting world of alternative investments, we want to hear from you. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in supporting QIC's investment capability across Private Equity, Private Debt, State Investments, Liquid Markets Group and Infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where you will handle various day-to-day operational elements across QIC's investment portfolio and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and process investment-related transactions and valuations.
• Ensure compliance with investment mandate & regulatory reporting obligations and internal controls.
• Monitor and reconcile cash flow requirements and balances.
• Prepare month-end workpapers for the regular reporting cycles.
• Reconcile key balances and investment data.
• Assist with reporting obligations and year-end financial reporting and audits.
• Support and collaborate with senior team members on operational tasks, reporting activities, and various business initiatives.

About You

• Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business, Commerce, or equivalent.
• Completing or completed CA or CPA qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience of post-graduate experience, preferably working within the financial services sector.
• High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills with an ability to adapt and learn systems skills quickly.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to be active contributor to a high performing team.

While it would be viewed favourably, investment industry experience is not a prerequisite to succeed in this role. We are seeking a highly proactive and initiative-driven individual who can independently manage work commitments within a dynamic and flexible environment.
