Finance Manager – Family Office (open to Full-Time or Part-Time)
About Us
Our family office manages a portfolio of diversified assets spanning traditional industry (mining services), Australian and international stocks, funds, venture capital and private equity, as well as alternative investments. Our ongoing growth involves managing family wealth across trusts, corporate beneficiaries, and our expansion into markets including Singapore.
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned finance executive to serve as Finance Manager, reporting directly to the Principal & CEO. You will be responsible for full-spectrum financial leadership, spanning accounting, tax, compliance, reporting, and strategic advisory for the family office and its stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all finance, tax planning, accounting, and legal compliance across the family office structure (including family trust, corporate beneficiaries, and venture entities).
Manage and optimise bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax filings, cash flow forecasting, and portfolio performance reports at both entity and consolidated levels.
Develop and implement effective international tax strategies, including transfer pricing arrangements for cross-border activities.
Liaise with external advisors (tax, legal, auditors) and coordinate all matters relating to compliance, legal risk, and statutory filings.
Oversee estate planning, succession plans, and manage structures to ensure efficient wealth transfer across generations.
Support Principal in family office governance, preparation of executive summaries and board packs, and provide proactive advice on financial landscape changes relevant to mining services and investments.
Handle personal financial matters for family stakeholders, respecting confidentiality and the bespoke nature of a family office environment.
Ensure best practices in control environments, compliance (local and global), and manage periodic audit and regulatory processes.
Ideal Skills & Profile
CPA/CA qualified (or equivalent international) and at least 5 years' senior finance, accounting, and/or legal experience.
Strong technical capability in financial reporting, tax, and compliance (preferably with exposure to mining or related industries).
Demonstrated experience in complex entity structure management (trusts, companies, venture entities) and group reporting.
Knowledge of international tax regimes and transfer pricing (experience with India and Singapore an advantage).
Strategic mindset, comfort liaising with legal counsel and external professionals.
Discretion, judgement and excellent communication skills.
Advantages
Experience in family office, UHNW environment or investment companies.
Understanding of portfolio performance analytics, venture finance, and estate/succession planning.
