An exciting opportunity to join the Social Work Department as a part-time social worker. The social worker will work across a number of clinical areas to provide support for children and young people receiving health care at SCH and their families. The position is well supported with clinical supervision and professional development opportunities.
What you'll be doing
The primary focus of the position is to provide a comprehensive social work service to children, young people and their families referred from the relative clinical area. This includes the provision of psychosocial assessments, counselling and advocacy. The service includes individual, family and group work and program development. The social worker is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has eligibility for AASW membership preferably with post graduate experience in social work practice with families and children and/or in health context
- Demonstrates skills in crisis intervention, assessment and counselling and a commitment to evidence based practice
- Demonstrates capacity to build professional and therapeutic relationships
