- Leadership role with purpose
- Full-time or part-time position and based in Melbourne
About Us
Founded in southern Italy in 1732 by St Alphonsus Liguori, The Congregation of the Most Holy redeemer (Redemptorists) are a religious congregation of priests and brothers within the Catholic Church who live in community for the sake of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially among people on the margins of society and Church.
With a rich history in Oceania that began in 1882, our Province of Oceania encompasses multicultural communities in Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and China as well as communities in Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. We form a collaborative network of 94 members from 11 nationalities, united by a shared mission and a deep bond of community. We collaborate deeply with communities in Asia and around the world and with all people of good will.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business & Operations Manager to lead the administrative and operational functions of the Provincial Office. This leadership role is pivotal in building a culture of good governance, strategic planning, and professional administration, enabling the leadership to focus on core missionary priorities.
This appointment marks a shift from a model where the Provincial personally handled much of the administrative work, toward a more professionalised and collaborative structure that supports mission effectiveness.
You will play a vital part in ensuring our mission thrives, overseeing the management of our multi-layered Province, while supporting members, staff and mission partners as they engage and serve thousands each day.
Reporting to the Provincial Superior and the Provincial Council, and leading a small team, the Business and Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the governance, property, staffing, compliance, and administrative functions of the Redemptorists are conducted with professionalism, transparency, and a spirit of collaboration.
This role requires sound judgment, strategic vision, and a strong capacity to balance day-to-day operational needs with long-term planning. It is ideal for a leader with a strong sense of mission and a proven ability to shape organisational culture.
With the Redemptorists, you will work in a supportive environment dedicated to a mission of engagement with the world in all its challenges and blessings. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a mission-driven organisation.
The role is a full-time position, although we are open to a part-time, minimum 4 days per week, arrangement. The role is based at the Province Office in Kew, Melbourne. The role will be for an initial period of 3-5 years (negotiable) with the possibility of renewal. Some national and international travel will be required.
About You
We are seeking interest from suitably qualified candidates who would like to share in the mission of the Redemptorists. Ideally, we are interested in people who meet the following
Key Requirements:
- Has an appreciation for, and a demonstrated alignment with, the vision, mission and values of the Redemptorists.

- Demonstrated experience in HR/operations and governance.
- Strong organisational, IT, and project management skills.
- Proven HR management experience, including employee wellbeing and compliance.
- Financial and property management literacy.
- Loyalty, integrity and high levels of discretion.
- Strategic thinker with attention to both detail and the "big picture."
