We are currently looking for as
Assistant Accountant
that has an interest and experience in retail and internal finance.

The
Assistant Accountant
role will involve supporting the finance team in various accounting tasks, such as preparing financial statements, supervising accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end processes. The position may also include tasks related to banking, payroll, and lease administration.

We are offering an immediate start for the successful person. HARLI + HARPA offer on the job training. This position reports report directly to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to

  • Financial Record Keeping -
    Maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable

  • Financial Reporting -
    Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets

  • Banking & Payroll -
    Processing bank and credit card transactions, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and assisting with payroll processing

  • Lease Administration -
    Managing lease agreements, rental payments, and related processes

  • Providing general support to the finance team and other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • Qualifications -
    Typically, a degree in accounting or finance is required, with some roles also requiring professional qualifications like CA or studying towards

  • Experience-
    Experience in a similar role, ideally within a retail or fast-paced environment, is often preferred

  • Skills -
    Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential

  • Systems -
    Experience with accounting software like Deputy, Xero and RMS may be advantageous
