We currently have an immediate requirement for a Senior Test Engineer to join the AJQ Delivery Team in Sydney or Melbourne, on a 12 month contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of forward-thinking Technology professionals responsible for defining and executing test scripts that evaluate performance and compatibility with the intended operating environment of developed applications or software.

The Senior Test Engineer will take the lead in establishing effective test automation technologies, practices and execution across a suite of new leading-edge strategic technology solutions being delivered by the Strategic Projects branch, including cloud hosted platforms, Mobile applications, CRM portals and more.

Working closely with the Test Manager, the Senior Test Engineer establishes approaches for test code development and integrates for both manual and test automation with Scrum workflow and build processes. You will also help complement and uplift testing practices in some "legacy" testing streams through the introduction of automation and transition into DevOps.

Due to the nature of the environment and the various projects, you will be required to conduct both manual and automated tests.

What will you be doing?

  • Evaluate and recommend manual and test automation technology selection and strategy (including framework selection and coding language).
  • Design and implement manual and automation frameworks, ensuring usability, effectiveness, efficiency and maintainability are met. Frameworks must support backend and UI components, with a particular emphasis on Accessibility.
  • Set standards for writing test code and coding principles to be used across the team.
  • Support in-Sprint delivery of automated tests meeting acceptance criteria and enable Definition of Done.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, UI, and user acceptance testing.
  • Write tests and supporting manual and automation code.
  • Oversee the continual improvement of testing practices.
  • Manage risks and issues related to the provision of manual/automated tests.

To be successful in securing this role you will have:

  • Expert "hands-on" technical proficiency in the principles and practical application of manual and automation testing, test frameworks, CI/CD, across a variety of tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of role autonomy and "can do" attitude
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Computing Science or Mathematics or another relevant technical field
  • 2–5 years' experience in a senior manual/automation test role
  • 7–8 years' experience in Software Development
  • ISTQB Certification
  • Salesforce experience
  • Playwright and
  • Australian Citizen, must able to hold Baseline Clearance
