My client is seeking a Senior QA to lead testing across complex IoT, firmware, and embedded system environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced settings and can drive both strategy and hands-on execution. The engineer will ensure seamless integration of software, firmware, and hardware, with a focus on quality, traceability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and templates for IoT and embedded systems.
  • Lead QA across firmware, software, and cloud components.
  • Design and run manual and automated system-level tests, including hardware-in-the-loop.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate functionality, communication protocols, and edge capabilities.
  • Drive defect triage, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain clear, traceable IoT test documentation.
  • Manage QA deliverables under tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of QA/testing experience with firmware and embedded systems.
  • Strong background in IoT environments and cross-stack testing.
  • Hands-on experience with system, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with edge computing, healthcare systems, or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth/BLE and protocols like UART, SPI, I2C.
  • Familiarity with tools like TestRail, Zephyr, Robot Framework, or Pytest.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash) and CI/CD experience.
