ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lakes College is seeking to appoint a Head of Pathways commencing in January 2026.

This middle leadership position works with influence and impact, supporting our students as they navigate their educational and career pathways, giving voice to the strategy and direction of the Secondary sub-school.

As Head of Pathways, you are passionate about meeting the diverse needs of our secondary students and maintaining the quality and industry relevance of the pathways and training delivered.

In your role, you will help students to understand their interests, skills and potential career paths, provide information about educational and vocational options, and support the development of their essential skills as job seekers and 'Future Ready Graduates'.

This role is an exceptional opportunity for experienced or aspirant educational leaders to level up professionally, operationalise strategy and vision and engender a culture of Belonging, Believing and for Becoming.

The Head of Pathways will be required to maintain an active teaching load.

ABOUT YOU

Your love of education will drive you to continually support the students and staff and the outcomes they are wanting to achieve.

To be successful in this role we expect that you address the following selection criteria:

  1. Demonstrated experience in the management of tertiary pathways and vocational programs within a secondary educational setting.
  2. A detailed working knowledge and understanding of QTAC, VET in Schools and RTO operations and compliance.
  3. High level interpersonal qualities and communication skills necessary for leading internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  4. Attention to detail and excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills to support the monitoring of program outcomes and the meeting of deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated ability to unearth and support the aspirations of students as they navigate a diverse range of vocational and career pathways.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to an independent school culture and the values of the College as a Ministry of the Uniting Church.
