About Us

AMA (NSW) is an independent association representing the State's medical profession to advance the professional interests of doctors and health of the community. The Workplace Relations Team equips AMA(NSW) members with knowledge, resources, and support in a range of areas including employment & workplace relations, professional development, and practice management.

About The Role

The role reports to the Director of Workplace Relations and is within a team of experienced Advisors who provide timely and pragmatic advice on employee relations matters. You will be responding to Member and Practice Manager requests for advice and assistance on a variety of employment relations matters arising in private medical practice.

Responsibilities

  • Providing day to day employee relations guidance and advice on the Health Professionals Support and Services Award, Nurses Award, Employment Agreements, and legislative compliance.
  • Assisting members with enquires regarding a broad range of employment matters including leave entitlements, overtime, performance management, termination, redundancy, unfair dismissals, workplace investigations.
  • Logging and managing employee relations cases in the LEAP file management system.
  • Contributing to the collective knowledge, resources. member webinars and training sessions.
  • Representing the AMA NSW Workplace Relations team at presentations and events. Occasional regional travel and attendance at after hours or weekend meetings/workshops will be required.

Required

  • Tertiary qualification and /or demonstrated experience in HR, Employment Relations, and/or Law.
  • Experience in providing employment advice within the health industry or at an industry association.
  • Confidence to deliver presentations as a part of training and information sessions.
  • Ability to prioritise and achieve work objectives within set timeframes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
