The Sunny Child, located at the Defence base in Swanbourne, WA, provides high-quality early learning to children aged 0–5 in a supportive, community-driven environment. With a strong connection to Defence families, our service is committed to inclusion, child-led learning, and strong team collaboration.

We're looking for a passionate Room Leader to join our team. This is a Monday to Friday position working 37.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, emotional resilience, and a passion for inclusive education. You will thrive in a busy, high-energy setting, be skilled in behaviour guidance, and lead your team with empathy, flexibility, and professionalism. Your ability to build relationships and tailor support to individual children will make a lasting impact on both their learning journey and your team culture.

What You'll Need

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in early years education, with leadership capability
  • Confidence supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong skills in positive behaviour guidance and reflective practice
  • Current and valid WA Working with Children check
  • Clear National Police clearance certificate (less than 6 months old)
  • Current First Aid, CPR certificate and Child Protection training
  • Previous employment experience as a Room Leader
