Austral International design and manufacture safety access covers (primarily out of aluminium), and other associated products for the water and wastewater industries. ).

The successful applicant would benefit from being involved in a small, fast growing, dynamic company with a high standard of values and ethics. This is a full time position, and we are looking for a practical and multi-skilled person to work in the assembly stage of the production line, being involved in but not limited to the following;

  1. Assembly of safety access covers and gantry's which involves test fitting before powder coating, making adjustment and repairs as required and reassembling after powder coating.
  2. Cutting, welding and finishing aluminium assemblies for access covers
  3. Perform quality checklists for finished products
  4. Cutting timber and making custom sized pallets
  5. Packaging of access covers for transport (strap, wrap, tape, label)
  6. General workshop duties
  7. Forklift duties

The successful candidate should be fit for physical work with a can-do attitude, and the following attributes would be beneficial;

  1. High level of attention to detail
  2. Problem solver with initiative
  3. Self-motivated and methodical.
  4. Aluminium welding experience (beneficial but not essential)
  5. Willing to learn new skills
  6. Tidy work ethic
  7. Ability to read and interpret drawings
  8. Forklift licence

Pay rate is open to negotiation and will be determined by skillset and experience.
