HIRING: Casual Trade Assistant – Solar Installation

Location: Derwent Park, TAS

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am start (full-time hours)

Pay: Award rate

Expert Energy Tasmania is looking for a reliable Trade Assistant to join our solar installation team. You'll be helping install solar panels and batteries, working outdoors and on rooftops, so you'll need to be physically fit and comfortable with manual labor.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar systems
  • Carry panels and equipment safely on and off roofs
  • Prepare and clean work areas
  • Follow safety protocols and company procedures
  • Work effectively with the team and communicate on-site

What we're looking for:

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Good English skills to communicate on site
  • Manual driver's licence
  • White Card (or willing to obtain one)
  • Reliable, punctual, and ready to learn
  • Comfortable working at heights and lifting heavy equipment

Experience:

  • Previous experience in construction, trade, or solar is a bonus but not required
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the renewable energy industry
