More than 50 emergency services agencies and utilities rely on the highest level of accessibility, even in the harshest environments. The NSW Telco Authority is responsible for coordinating the Public Safety Network (PSN) and has entrusted us to maintain its network across 400+ sites and counting. We monitor an average of 570,000 calls per day.

Lead Australia's Mission-Critical Public Safety Network
BAI is seeking an exceptional executive to lead the operations and strategic growth of the
NSW Public Safety Network
– a 700+ site P25 radio network that keeps communities safe 24/7/365.

This isn't just another telecom leadership role. You'll be:

  • Commanding real impact
    – Your decisions directly protect emergency responders and the communities they serve during bushfires, floods, and major incidents
  • Leading diverse, high-performing teams
    – Direct a multidisciplinary organisation spanning technical experts, frontline network operators and business development specialists
  • Leading at scale
    – Full P&L accountability with a pathway to expand nationally
  • Shaping the future
    – Position BAI as the partner of choice for state governments looking to modernise critical communications infrastructure
  • Building something replicable
    – Create operating models and capabilities that will deploy across Australia

What You'll Lead

  • Operational Excellence
    : Maintain >99.99% network availability across mission-critical infrastructure supporting Police, Fire, Ambulance, SES, and RFS
  • Team Leadership
    : Lead a team of high-calibre experts including engineers, 24/7 NOC operators and commercial managers
  • Crisis Leadership
    : Take command during natural disasters and major incidents, coordinating your team and emergency response efforts with state agencies
  • Strategic Growth
    : Drive contract renewals and position BAI for the future
  • Capability Building
    : Develop specialised P25/broadband expertise and scalable frameworks for national expansion

Your Background
You bring deep
expertise
in
public safety communications, 24x7 NOC environments, and government stakeholder management
, with a proven track record of:

  • Leading cross-functional teams and developing talent
  • Delivering excellence in telecommunications/critical communications
  • Leading large-scale government contracts
  • Managing mission-critical technology experience
  • Executive-level relationship management with state/federal agencies
