About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, you'll play a key role in driving high-quality, strategic procurement across the parliamentary departments. From providing trusted advice and managing complex sourcing activities, to building stakeholder capability and shaping procurement systems, you'll deliver outcomes that are transparent, efficient, and aligned with organisational priorities.

This isn't a repetitive, transactional role. You'll work across a diverse range of goods and services that reflect the unique operating environment of Parliament. Whether it's IT, HR, Buildings & Grounds, Security, Broadcast, Libraries or Catering, no two procurements are the same. You'll collaborate with professionals from a broad mix of backgrounds, giving you the chance to connect with, learn from, and relate to colleagues with varied perspectives and experiences.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in procurement that ensures best value for money, with the ability to manage complex contracts and maintain probity throughout the process
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide expert procurement and contract management advice to stakeholders
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience preparing complex procurement and technical documents
  • Strong research, analytical, and conceptual skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (Power BI experience is a plus)
  • Confidence in negotiations, with the ability to influence others using diplomacy, tact, and discretion
