About the role

You'll be instrumental in shaping project outcomes, influencing critical business decisions, and driving procurement excellence. Leading and influencing critical business decisions related to project expenditures is a key factor for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category and project procurement strategies that improve speed to market, reduce risk, and deliver innovation and commercial value.
  • Influence critical business decisions by providing market intelligence, cost driver analysis, and sourcing insights that shape project outcomes.
  • Manage end-to-end tendering and negotiation processes, ensuring contracts are commercially sound, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with project deliverables.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leaders, acting as a trusted advisor and procurement champion.
  • Own supplier relationships for key categories, defining KPIs, leading performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, delivery, legal, and analytics teams to ensure procurement strategies are integrated and effective.
  • Support compliance and governance, ensuring procurement activities align with policy, process, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coach and guide sourcing teams, providing leadership and expertise to elevate procurement capability across the organisation.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil, or Construction (Master's/MBA preferred)
  • 10–15 years' experience in procurement within project environments, ideally in utilities or infrastructure.
  • Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and contract negotiation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/e-Procurement systems.
  • A curious mindset, collaborative spirit, and a drive to simplify complexity and deliver results.
