Mill House Medical Centre is a small, friendly General Practice in Middleton, on the coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Medical Receptionist for a permanent position up to 38 hours per week. Flexible or part-time hours may be considered for the correct candidate(s).

Shifts would be scheduled between 7:45am - 6pm weekdays with Saturday mornings 8:30am - 1pm shared on a rotational basis between Reception staff. Shifts will include both opening or closing the practice, so there is an expectation of availability across all clinic hours.

About you:

  • You will have experience in a similar administration position, preferably in GP or specialist rooms, with excellent communication skills delivered in a professional, courteous manner.  Experience with Medical Director, Best Practice or similar software preferred.
  • A positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
  • Able to multi-task under pressure, while delivering high quality service to both patients and staff members.
  • Ability to work independently after training, and as part of a close-knit team.
  • Demonstrating problem solving in conflict resolution skills, with understanding of privacy and confidentiality regulations particularly when dealing with sensitive matters with both patients and team members.
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours if required to cover for holiday or other leave.
  • Hold current National Police Clearance, Working With Children Check, CPR certificate or willing to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist patients, including booking appointments and answering queries in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Handing payments and transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Providing administration support.
  • Opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and role specific standards.

Position reports to Administration Coordinator as part of the overall management team. We provide above award rates and a position where you can grow.
